In the early hours of Wednesday 13 November 2024 the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD), Eastern Region Task Team Officers, arrested four (4) suspects for dealing in illicit substances in the Daveyton area.
Following on information received about an individual suspected to be selling drugs in the community, Officers proceeded to a residence on Magwaza street, where a twenty-five (25) year old male suspect, was found in possession of Illegal substances called rock.
Officers proceeded to Daveyton Hostel, where two (2) females aged twenty-one (21) and twenty-eight(28), where found in possession of Mandrax tables. Furthermore a fifty-four (54) year old male suspect was found in possession of Mandrax tablets, in Rasingane street. The illegal substances had a total estimated value of over sixteen thousand (+R16 000)
The group was arrested and detained at Daveyton Police Station, facing charges of possession of illegal substances and possible dealing. They are expected to appear in court soon.
