R200 000 in cash was stolen during a robbery at First National Bank in Crescent Shopping Center in Umhlanga, KZN.
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the vicinity when he was flagged down by a passerby reporting the robbery. The Reaction Officer proceeded to the mall and was informed that four armed suspects entered the bank and robbed at least two customers who were at the bank to make deposits.
One of the customers was deprived of R150 000 which was the proceeds from the sale of his vehicle. A second person was robbed of R50 000. The gunmen then exited the bank and fled in a silver Porsche with a NUR registration. The model of the getaway vehicle is unknown at this stage.
The victims were not injured.
