Northern Cape: Suspects possibly linked to shoplifting syndicate arrested
The Kimberley SAPS Detectives with Visible Policing followed up on information regarding a possible shop-lifting syndicate in the Kimberley and surrounding areas. The police followed up on information and arrested five females and one male on Tuesday, 06 March 2018 at about 17:30 on the N12 North just outside Kimberley. The suspects were travelling in a white Toyota Avanza packed with suspected stolen goods such as clothing, beauty products and perfumes. It is alleged the goods were stolen at shops in Kimberley and surrounding areas. The approximate street value of the goods is R80 000. The police also confiscated the Toyota Avanza, driven by the 59-year-old male. All the suspects are from the Jan Kempdorp and Pampierstad areas.
The five female suspects are between the ages 28 and 60 and should be appearing in the Kimberley Magistrates’ Court soon.
