Whilst conducting crime prevention patrols in Orange Farm, the JMPD Tactical Response Unit officers noticed two suspicious males. After requesting to search them, one suspect attempted to flee and discharged his firearm, prompting the officers to call for backup from SAPS Sedibeng TRT, which was in the vicinity and pursued him on foot.
He was apprehended. A search of his residence later uncovered two live rounds of ammunition. The suspect was detained at Orange Farm SAPS, and a case was opened for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
