The Nelson Mandela Bay District Intervention Task Team arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of Ansley Agulhas (44) on Friday, 18 April 2025 in Kenton-On-Sea.
The team of detectives received information of a second suspect involved in the murder of Agulhas, immediately with the assistance of the National Head Office task team the information was operationalised. The team tactically entered the residential premises in Kenton-on-sea where the suspects was hiding out. The suspect was apprehended, and the members also recovered a firearm with one live round of ammunition in possession of the suspect.
The suspect was arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition. The suspect (42) will appear in the Kenton-On-Sea magistrate court on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, and thereafter he will appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate court on charges of murder during the week.
It is alleged that the suspect was involved in the murder of Ansley Agulhas (44) on 31 March 2025 at the taxi rank next to Brister House, Govan Mbeki, Central. It is alleged that a 44-year-old taxi driver was standing near his taxi when two unknown males with their faces covered approached him. The one suspect wearing a black hoodie took out a firearm and fired multiple shots at the deceased before they fled down a side street towards Strand Street on foot.
