The Northern Cape Provincial Stock Theft and Endangered Species Investigation Unit recovered a significant number of sheep and goats alleged to have been stolen in Tsineng village in the John Taolo Gaetsewe district.
On Sunday, 16 March 2025, a local small scale farmer discovered that the fence of the kraal where livestock is kept was cut open and noticed that some livestock was allegedly stolen.
A case of stock theft was registered at Tsineng SAPS and the Provincial Commander of STES, Colonel Dawie Moselane dispatched two members from his unit.
The detectives followed up on information of where the stolen livestock was allegedly hidden.
The information was operationalised and ten goats and ten sheep were discovered and returned to the rightful owner.
