A 28 year old robbery suspect was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in Waterloo – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Reaction Officers were dispatched to Frog Road at approximately 02:52 after receiving reports of the robbery. On arrival, Officers met with the victim who explained that he was walking in the direction of his residence after work. Five (5) men confronted him and robbed him of his iPhone 13, R200 cash, wallet and man bag (picture 3).
During the interview, the victim noticed one (1) of the suspects in the nearby vicinity. Reaction Officers pursued and apprehended him. The victim’s man bag was recovered in his possession. He initially stated that he found the bag, but confirmed during further questioning that he was one (1) the suspects involved in the robbery.
He added that his accomplices proceeded to a drug den to sell the phone and purchase narcotics. He could confirm their location after they left.
The suspect was placed under arrest and handed over to Police for further investigation.
