A 53-year-old man was struck by a stray bullet after gangsters fired shots while fleeing the scene of a robbery in Waterloo – KZN during the early hours of this morning.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to a residence on Pumpkin Road. On arrival, it was established that a group of friends were consuming alcohol when they were confronted by three armed suspects.
The robbers informed the victims that they were members of the West Gang. They stole nine cellphones and cash. The suspects fired shots randomly while making their escape in a silver Suzuki Ertiga. A 53-year-old male who resides in the vicinity was struck by a stray bullet on his right leg. He was standing in his yard at the time of the incident.
He was transported privately to a medical facility.
