Yesterday, members of KZN VIP and Phoenix SAPS collaborated on a crime prevention and visible policing operation in the Phoenix area. The operation focused on high-crime zones, increasing visibility and safety for residents.
SAPS members, along with KZN VIP, conducted stop-and-search operations for suspicious individuals along roadways, demonstrating a strong commitment to keeping our communities safe.”
The joint operation between KZN VIP and Phoenix SAPS continued throughout the day and night, yielding impressive results. Thankfully, no serious crimes were reported within the Phoenix area during this time.
Members responded swiftly to incidents, including a looting incident on the M41 where a truck lost its load, and a serious crash that left a vehicle submerged in a river bed.
Night time operations focused on areas where suspicious individuals often seek shelter. Searches were conducted in grounds, shelters, and change rooms, resulting in the confiscation of multiple dangerous weapons from suspects.
We consider this operation a resounding success, demonstrating the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in keeping our communities safe and will continue with these operations.”
