Two men were arrested following a shooting incident where they allegedly fired shots randomly at people in Section A.
On Wednesday, 1 January 2025 at about 06:00, a case of attempted murder was reported at Botshabelo police after two African males pulled out a gun and started shooting at bystanders at Section A, Botshabelo. Nobody was injured.
At about 13:00, the task team received information about two African males (suspects), both residing in Section A. Information was operationalised and an 18-year-old African male was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm firearm at a house. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old male who was found in possession of ammunition.
Both males were arrested and detained for attempted murder and will appear in court soon.
