The South African Police Service (SAPS) Provincial Commercial Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) has successfully arrested three suspects in connection with fraud and theft of school funds amounting to thousands of rands.
On Friday, 24 January 2025, between 08:00 and 16:00, a dedicated team from Provincial CCIU conducted investigations related to the case where school funds were used for personal gain, which led them to Harmonia Farm School, situated in the Ficksburg district. Following intensive investigation, the team arrested Maneo Malebo (57), a School Teacher,
Puleng Ramakhaleng (38), also a School Teacher and Palesa Malebo (35) who is a civilian.
The three suspects were detained over the weekend and they made their first court appearance on Monday, 27 January 2025, at the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court. They were granted bail of R2000-00 each and will have to appear again on 17 March 2025.
Investigations are ongoing and more arrests might follow.
