Coastal Policing members responded to an incident where lifeguards were attacked by a group of individuals. Despite efforts to assist, the situation escalated, and backup was requested.
A total of 6 suspects were apprehended, with one officer sustaining minor injuries during the operation. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that two of the suspects were illegally in the country, and one was flagged as wanted.
All six suspects were charged and detained at Point SAPS with the assistance of law enforcement teams. Charges include assault, resisting arrest, and immigration violations.
