On Monday 13 January 2025 from 07:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg and Daveyton Precinct officers, conducted stop and search operation and five male suspects were arrested in Putfontein for being in the country illegally.
During the operation, the EMPD stopped and searched 91 pedestrians and 51 motor vehicles, were five suspects were arrested under the Contravention of Section 49 (1) of the Immigration Act (Act 13 of 2002) and were taken to Putfontein Police Station.
