Good Samaritan Shot While Assisting Stranded Driver: Verulam – KZN

A man was shot during an attempted hijacking in Verulam – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Jabu Ngcobo Road at approximately 02:31 after receiving reports of a shooting incident. On arrival, it was established that a female was travelling to Ndwedwe – KZN when her white VW Polo sedan experienced a puncture (picture 2). A passing motorist stopped to assist.

A white Nissan NP200 bakkie with an unknown registration blocked both vehicles. The suspects attempted to rob the victims and hijack one (1) of their vehicles. The Good Samaritan, who was assisting the stranded driver was shot in his arm during the altercation. The suspects thereafter sped off in their getaway bakkie.

The injured male was treated for his injuries on scene before being expedited to a medical facility.
