Driver Decapitated, Passenger Critical Following a single vehicle crash along the R102 from Phoenix going towards Verulam

KZNVIP Medics were alerted of the crash by commuters who were passing by to cornubia. Immediately KZNVIP Medics Responded, upon arrival it was established that the driver was Decapitated and declared deceased on scene.

KZNVIP Medics attended to the critically injured Passenger before transporting rapidly to a nearby medical facility for further intervention.

Traffic was severely affected during the time of the incident, it was a very sad scene for emergency services and family. The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over a few times.

As per the passenger he explained that a vehicle which was stationary on the yellow line became mobile and turned onto the slow lane without indication resulting in them trying to avoid the vehicle and losing control.
