The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Robinson R44 Helicopter is currently conducting an aerial search for robbery suspects in Cornubia – KZN.
Reaction Officers, the Verulam SAPS & other Private Security Providers converged on the area after Security Officers were deprived of three firearms during a robbery at a construction site.
The suspects fled in a white Toyota Quantum, but abandoned the vehicle after backup Officers opened fire on them. One suspect was immediately arrested. His accomplices fled in different directions through the surrounding cane fields.
One robber is believed to be shot, but this cannot be confirmed. Security Officers are also utilising a Scent Detection Dog to track the gunmen.
