“The Gumatane Umzimkhulu River Bridge and upgrading of roads will end the isolation of communities from KwaCele, KwaFodo, KwaMbotho.”
“They will now have access to socio-economic opportunities as a result of excellent road infrastructure,” MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma stated.
Today, Duma monitored the construction and was joined by Inkosi Cele and Inkosi Dlamini-Fodo.
Key take-ways in relation to work given to local companies:
1. Owned by Women – R50,8 million.
2. Owned by Military Veterans – R 6,2 million.
3. Other companies – R3,3 million
More companies owned by the youth and persons with disabilities are still to be awarded.
