Denish Moodley (picture 1) and Ugresen Perumal (picture 2) are on the run after being convicted for a 2017 murder that occurred in Lenasia South – Gauteng in 2017.
Avinash Manjanu was attending a party in Lenasia South, Extension 2 on Saturday (04/11/2017). An altercation broke out between him and Moodley. Moodley left the party and returned with Perumal in a Hyundai i20. Manjanu was standing on the roadside when Perumal opened fire on him while being spurred on by Moodley. Manjanu sped off in his blue BMW M3, but lost control of the car after he failed to negotiate a bend. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared deceased at the scene.
Moodley & Perumal were later arrested by Police and charged for the murder. A firearm used in the assassination was also recovered. The accused were each sentenced to 25 years imprisonment which they appealed against in 2019. Their appeal was dismissed. They were expected to hand themselves over to authorities, but have absconded. The family of the deceased believe that the two may be hiding out in KwaZulu Natal.
