Integrated operations to clamp down on various suspects were conducted in Ekurhuleni District on Friday, 08 November 2024 to Sunday, 10 November 2024, led the SAPS members and other law enforcement agencies to achieve the following Successes:
160 Suspects were arrested by the Detectives who worked across Ekurhuleni Policing Precincts on 09 November 2024 during their day operations within the District Policing Precincts to trace suspects and ensuring that those who acted on the other side of the law are brought to book. Amongst the suspects, (120) one hundred and twenty were arrested for contact Crimes, (09) Nine for contact related Crime, (25) twenty-five for other serious crime, (22) twenty-two for Gender Based Violence related issues
155 Suspects were nabbed during weekend high density Operations comprising of SAPS members, EMPD, Gauteng Traffic, Home Affairs and other stakeholders, conducted from Friday, 08 November 2024 to Sunday, 10 November 2024.
In Boksburg North, 0n Saturday, 09 November 2024, members of Crime prevention unit received complainant from concerned Community members regarding an African male having a suspicious black bag standing on the Main reef road, Danswart. The Police proceeded to the adress and upon arrival, they found a man who matched the description. With five black bags containing dagga Ziplocks to the estimated street value of R500 000. The suspect was detained at Boksburg North SAPS for being in possession of dagga.
In Tembisa South area, On Saturday, 09 November 2024, the Police received a complaint of a stolen motor vehicle at NCP Hostel, Vusimuzi section. Upon arrival, the Police managed to arrest 8 suspects for possession of 2 unlicensed firearms, 23 ammunition and possession of stolen motor vehicle .The suspects were detained at Tembisa South SAPS
Law enforcement members and other stakeholders participated in operations were commended by the District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole for their efforts in making an impact in Ekurhuleni areas.
