MEC Violet Mathye addressed the Departmental Strategic Planning Session for Transport and Community Safety in the Waterberg District today, reflecting on 30 years of democracy, achievements, and challenges.
She emphasised the importance of ethical conduct within the department, addressing gender imbalances, and improving road safety through education and advocacy.
Mathye also highlighted upcoming socio-economic initiatives, including the Gauteng-Limpopo High-Speed Train and affordable public transport as key to the government’s “Doing more together” commitment.
The session is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, 27 September 2024, after adopting clear resolutions with timelines for implementation.
