The Pixley Ka Seme District Commissioner, Major General Nomana Mtukushe welcomed the arrest of three suspects by the De Aar Public Order Police (POP) Unit on Wednesday, 18 September 2024.
The members responded to information regarding possible armed assailants.
The swift response of the team led to the tracing of the three suspects at Malaykamp and Barcelona sections in De Aar.
Upon searching the suspects, the members recovered two suspected firearms with 23 rounds of ammunition and one cellphone.
The suspects were charged for business robbery and will appear in the De Aar Magistrates Court soon.
The eradication of illegal firearms remains a priority for SAPS and the public is encouraged to rate the police efforts in fighting crime by participating in the “RATE OUR SERVICE” online survey to assist the police in improving services.
