EMPD Specialised Services Officers while performing law enforcement and crime prevention duties spotted a suspicious white Mercedes-Benz Vito on Madiba Street.
Officers instantly decided to tactically stop the vehicle which had one occupant inside. Upon requesting the driver of the vehicle to produce his driver’s licence which he successfully produced.
Officers started to inspect the vehicle, while inspecting Officers noticed something sinister on the license disc, Officers discovered that the disc on the Vito was that of belonging to a Chrysler motor vehicle this also confirmed after making enquiry on the e-Natis system that came back positive.
The driver who could not provide Officers with a satisfactory answer for the ordeal was immediately handcuffed and placed under arrest.
The suspect was marched to Tsakane police station and charged with fraud. He is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate Court soon.
