Four suspects, aged between 25 and 32, were arrested in Ekurhuleni District on Tuesday, 25 June 2024, for their involvement in ATM bombing, #IllegalMining, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The successful crime intelligence operation resulted in the seizure of a shotgun with five live rounds, drugs, and stolen property. The suspects are believed to be linked to multiple cases of ATM bombing and illegal mining in Ekurhuleni District and other areas in Gauteng province.
In a separate incident, police in Soweto followed information about the ATM bombing suspects in the area. Information led the police to a house where stained cash was found. The search for the suspects is underway.
