During the early hours this morning, just after 4am, Mi7 Reaction Officers were alerted to a robbery incident which occurred near Dr Chota Motala Road in the Raisethorpe area.
Mi7 Reaction Officers found police officers also en route to the same incident, and teamed together to respond. It is believed the victim was standing on the roadside carrying a box of clothing when they were approached by machete-wielding suspects.
The suspects allegedly robbed the person of their belongings and fled in a Toyota. The description of the vehicle was circulated to police and Mi7 Reaction Officers. After searching the area, the team spotted and strategically intercepted the vehicle.
The suspects were found in possession of the stolen items and the weapons. The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
