Tshwane Metro Police Department continues to excel, 13 drunk drivers arrested

On Friday, 26 January 2024, the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) conducted a drunk driving operation in Region 6, east of Tshwane. The operation was a success and led to the arrest of 13 drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol. All the arrested drivers were tested, and they were beyond the legal limit of 0,24 ml. in correspondence with a breathalyser.

In addition to these arrests, TMPD cable theft members arrested one suspect for tampering and damaging essential infrastructure and possession of a stolen cable in Pretoria West. The members received a complaint of cable theft in progress on Sunday 28 January 2024 from security guards at a power station in Pretoria West.

The complaint was positive, upon arrival, the officers spotted 5 suspects who flee in different directions when they were tactically approached. One suspect was apprehended. Tools that were found on the scene include 2m casings, 2m copper cable, hack saw, hammers, chisel, and hacksaw blades.
