A total number of 18 firearms were confiscated during the high density operations “Kukula” that were conducted across the province by the multi-disciplinary forces from the 08 January 2024 until the early hours of Monday, 15 January 2024.
During the 1 796 suspects were also nabbed for various offenses.
Four hundred and sixty nine (469) undocumented foreign nationals were arrested for the Contravention of Immigration Act, including forty suspects for possession of suspected stolen properties.
In addition, 238 individuals were nabbed for public drinking, 28 for illegal dealing in liquor, 24 for rape, 155 for assault GBH, 13 for robbery with weapons other than firearm, 16 for sexual offenses, and 105 for drug related crimes amongst serious crimes.
105 suspects were charged for drug related crimes, and police seized large quantities of a variety drugs
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has appreciated and praised the sterling work that is continuously displayed by the men and women in blue in combating crime across the province.
The suspects have started to appear before various Magistrate’s courts across the province.
