Police arrested two suspects and recovered a vehicle believed to have been used during business robberies

A well-coordinated joint operation that was established to track down the suspects involved in business robberies yielded success, following the arrest of two suspects aged 25 and 29, on Wednesday 17 January 2024.

Police recovered a firearm and motor vehicle believed to have been used during the commission of the crime.

The operation formed part of the high-density Operation Shanela (Kukula) comprising of detectives from across Sekhukhune District.

The two suspects were positively linked with the business robbery committed at GaMashamothane Village in Tubatse earlier this month (January), in which two suspects, driving a red Polo, robbed a local shop. During the arrest, one firearm and the motor vehicle used to commit the crime were confiscated.

They were also linked with another business robbery that occurred in Burgersfort after one of the suspects was found in possession of the robbed cellphone.

The suspects might be linked to similar cases as police investigations continue.
