Just before 3 pm today, Mi7 National Group’s Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of a Motor Vehicle Accident on the N3 Northbound carriageway near Peter Brown Drive.
Mi7 medics found that a car and a truck had collided. An elderly patient was assessed and unfortunately succumbed to injuries before paramedics arrived. The patient was declared deceased on the scene. Two others were seriously injured and were stabilized before being transported to hospital by Mi7 medics and their counterparts from another service provider.
We pass our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and wish those injured a successful recovery.
Motorists travelling on the N3 between Pietermaritzburg and Hilton are urged to find alternate routes as the flow of traffic has been heavily affected.
