VRMED attended to three separate pedestrian-involved collisions on Tuesday night. At approximately 18:40 VR MED received reports of a collision on Rudolf Greyling rd where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival crews found a male patient lying on the road with serious injuries. VRMED advanced life support paramedic stabilized the patient on scene before being rushed to the Pelonomi trauma unit in critical condition. A second incident was reported at 21:00 on the N8 close to the airport bridge.
Sadly the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene. While crews were attending the incident they heard another collision approximately 500 from then where unfortunately another pedestrian had been fatally struck by a vehicle.
We urge all road users and pedestrians to stay safe and be vigilant on the roads at all times. Being aware of your surroundings can save lives.
