South African Infantry Battalion Soldiers in Zonestraal Area of Responsibility were conducting foot patrols in Monzana when they spotted two males in possession of dagga. The two male suspects saw the soldiers and ran into nearby bushes, abandoning the dagga. The dagga was taken by the Military Police to Mahamba South African Police Service. The estimated value of dagga is R 754 800,00 and it weighed 251,6 Kg.
Another incident took place on 20 January 2022, in Macadamia Area of Responsibility, where soldiers confiscated contraband goods worth R101 250. Soldiers spotted two men crossing the border illegally from Mozambique into South Africa carrying big boxes. The two suspects saw soldiers, they then dropped the boxes and ran back to Mozambique. The confiscated goods were taken to the Lebombo South African Revenue Services by Military Police.
