On Thursday, 9 December 2021 vigilant members of Ekurhuleni Flying Squad arrested four suspects found in possession of counterfeit goods in Springs CBD.
According to a preliminary report, the SAPS members noticed two white Quantum kombis traveling on Welgedacht Road towards the N12 freeway in the early hours of this morning and started to follow them.
The members intercepted both kombis to conduct a search. A passenger from the first Quantum kombi jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.
The police cornered the remaining four suspects and conducted a search of both vehicles. The SAPS members recovered 15 bags of counterfeit goods.
Upon further investigation, it was established that the goods were destined to be transported to Johannesburg. The value of counterfeit goods is yet to be established.
All four suspects will be charged for dealing in and possessing of counterfeit goods.
