On Wednesday, 6 October 2021 three suspects attempted to rob a man at gunpoint near a local car wash in Evaton, but vigilant members of SAPS Evaton immediately acted and prevented the armed robbery.
The SAPS members were at a local car wash in Evaton when they noticed a silver Hyundai vehicle with three occupants stopping to rob a man at gunpoint. The suspects noticed the SAPS members and fired shots at them. The members also retaliated and the suspects fled the scene with a chase ensued.
Police found the suspects’ vehicle near a BP garage in Evaton abandoned. One of the suspects was found with a gun wound next to the vehicle.
