Vigilant members of Gauteng Highway Patrol nabbed duo found in possession of counterfeit notes in Rabie Ridge

On Friday, 10 September 2021 Gauteng Highway Patrol members apprehended two suspects aged 48 and 56 in Rabie Ridge on a charge of possession of counterfeit notes estimated worth over a million.

The Highway Patrol members were out on routine patrol along Modderfontein Road when they identified a suspicious looking white Toyota Hilux bakkie. The suspects noticed the police vehicle and sped off, a chase ensued. The SAPS members shortly after intercepted the suspect’s vehicle, conducted a search and found bags filled with R200 counterfeit notes.

The duo is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate Court soon, while further investigation is underway.
