A shack built at the rear of a home on Lily Pond Avenue in Gandhi’s Hill, Tongaat was gutted in a fire last night.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the residence. On arrival, Reaction Officers found a shack engulfed in flames. The intense heat resulted in windows, taps, and plastic gutters being damaged on the main building. The fire was extinguished by Fire Fighters on their arrival.
A 38-year-old male who resided in the shack was unharmed and could not confirm how the fire had started.
