Petrol Bomb Attack at Vanrova in Tongaat – KZN

Three petrol bombs were lobbed into a property on Ramiah Drive in Vanrova, Tongaat this afternoon (Friday).

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Center received a call at 19:14 of a house on fire. Reaction Officers and the Ethekwini Fire Department were dispatched to the residence and on arrival located one of the petrol bombs outside the boundary wall (picture 1) while a second bottle was discovered in the yard. The wicks were still alight.

A third bottle had burst on impact. The homeowner informed Reaction Officers that she was watching television when she heard an explosion.

The motive for the attack could not be confirmed at this stage.
