Parkweg TRT received intelligent driven information about a blue Hyundai Getz with Free State province registration numbers. The vehicle was suspected of being used in illegal activities.
The vehicle was traced in the Parkweg precinct and stopped by the members. Two occupants alighted the vehicle and the vehicle was searched. A Lorcin Pistol with a positive license was found in possession of one of the vehicle occupants. Members searched further and found a parabellum firearm with live ammunition.
The two suspects aged 44 and 51, were arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
In another incident, TRT members while patrolling on the N8 came across a suspicious white Toyota Corolla. Members tested the vehicle and results indicated that the vehicle was reported stolen in Thabong.
The male person aged 25 who was the driver of the vehicle, was arrested for being in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
The 3 suspects will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court soon for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
