KWAZULU-NATAL – The Newcastle Public Order Police embarked in an operation yesterday at Newcastle and Madadeni areas.
The team proceeded to Madadeni following intelligence about a man in possession of drugs. They entered the house and a search was conducted. Upon searching the house they found 970 tablets of mandrax. The total value of the recovered drugs is R77 600-00.
Cash amounting to R6120-00, suspected to be the proceeds of drugs, was seized by police. A 34-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in drugs. He is appearing before the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court today.
