PORT ELIZABETH – The South African Police Service in Despatch is investigating a case of culpable homicide following an accident between two vehicles at about 22:10 on Saturday, 11 July 2020 at the corner of Old Uitenhage Road and Booysens Park Drive, Bethelsdorp.
It is alleged that a black VW Golf with five passengers was traveling from Kleinskool in the direction of Uitenhage while a silver Dodge Caliber was traveling from Uitenhage towards Klein skool. It is further alleged that the VW Golf was driving on the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with the Dodge. The driver and one of the passengers in the VW Golf died on the scene and the other occupants of the vehicles were taken to hospital to be treated.
Details of the deceased will only be released ones the next of kin has been informed and they were formally identified. A case of culpable homicide is currently under investigation.
