Swift police action leads to recovery of stolen motor vehicle at Goqwana locality in Tsolo

Swift police action in line with the back to basics principles of policing has lead to the recovery of a stolen white Hyundai SUV. This vehicle was recovered at Goqwana locality in Tsolo after it was stolen at the R61 road near Mandela Park today the 31 July 2018 at about 07h00.

It is alleged that a 54-year-old woman was taking her 10 year old boy and 6 year old girl to school when she accidentally ran over a 13-year-old girl who was standing next to the road. It is further alleged that when she was still busy attending to the victim an unknown man drove off with her vehicle with her two children inside. According to information the suspect later dropped them off near Chris Hani Park where he gave them a sum of R20 and ordered them to board a taxi to school.

Mthatha Flying Squad members immediately launched an investigation and tracked the vehicle. The vehicle was found abandoned at Goqwana locality in Tsolo with no number plates. No arrest has been made as yet and police are investigating a case of theft of motor vehicle. Both children were found at the school unharmed.
