The operational strategies by the police keep bearing fruitful results through the Intelligence led joint operations which were up and running in all the Clusters until this morning on 2018-07-30. During these operations, 1238 suspects, aged between 19 and 68 were arrested for variable crime incidents ranging from murder, attempted murder, rape, armed robbery, burglary residence, business robbery, business burglary, escape from lawful custody, and theft of motor vehicle, theft out of motor vehicle to possession of dagga, drugs and suspected stolen properties.
In the Modimolle Cluster, two (02) suspects were apprehended in the Mookgophong
Policing area for a spate of robberies and they were linked to more than 30 cases including carjacking incidents. In the Thohoyandou Cluster, a 65 year old man was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm which was allegedly stolen on 2018-06-18 at Mazwimba village during a truck accident. Another group of five (05) suspects aged between 27 and 41 were arrested for separate incidents of burglary business and residential and robberies.
In the Mahwelereng Cluster, two (02) suspects, aged between 19 and 26 were arrested for theft of livestock after the recovery of four (04) stolen goats which were already sold at the local auction place in Mokopane. In the Seshego Policing area, four (04) suspects aged between 23 and 36 were arrested for burglary business and residential and recovered stolen properties at the second hands goods shop in Polokwane.
In the Burgersfort Cluster, four (04) suspects aged between 27 and 45 were arrested for attempted fraud at one of the local banks in the Burgersfort CBD. The Intelligent led joint operation was conducted by members of the Crime Intelligence and the Detectives which followed information about the suspects having fraudulent identity documents with the signatories of the Business Bank account with millions of rand.
Suspects then tried to link the account with the fraudulent bank card through Internet Banking to access the money who were arrested during a transaction in progress inside the bank and their GTI polo was also confiscated. In the Mahwelereng Cluster, the Intelligent led Joint Operations “Cease fire ” and “Zonke 3 ” comprising members of the Crime Intelligence and the K9 Unit, were conducted in the Mokopane Policing area and a 18 -year-old suspect was arrested for possession of a Guerrilla 9mm airgun Pistol that resembles a real firearm.
During further search around the house, 100 sachets of nyaope and 84 sachets of dagga were recovered. The second suspect was traced in the area and found in possession of 23 sachets of nyaope and nine (09) white packets of rock drug.
These simultaneous operations were conducted through operations Boncha-Mohlala, Lockdown,etc. and in the form of patrols, roadblocks, tracing of wanted suspects, stop and search focusing on Trio crimes, drugs, illegal firearms, illegal immigration Act, contact and property crimes, Road Traffic Act and public drinking.

* 01 (one) panga, 02 (two) crowbars, Airtime vouchers and Cigarettes to the value of R8000.00.
* 594 kg of dagga
* 503 sachets of dagga
* 1288 grams of drugs.
*10 dagga plants
* 1,458 kg of dagga.

* 09 sachets of Rock

* Four (04) side Cutters

Some of the arrested suspects have already appeared before various Magistrate Courts across the Province and others will still appear. The Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lt General Nneke Ledwaba commended the police officials who worked tirelessly until the apprehension of these suspects in ensuring safety to the masses of this Province.
