Multi-disciplinary operations continue to clean the Limpopo streets of any criminality

Limpopo: In a relentless effort by the Police in Limpopo to fight crime through the Multi-Disciplinary Operation Fiella II which is up and running for twenty-four hours throughout the Province especially in the crime infested areas, it continue to yield wonderful and exiting results.

This became evident when eight (08) suspects aged between 31 and 53 were arrested in Musina and Makhado Policing areas for crimes ranging from business robberies ,possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition to possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles.

In the Musina Policing area outside Makhado, five (05) suspects aged between 41and 46 were arrested for business robbery that occurred at a local super market. These suspects allegedly entered the shop pretending to be customers and one of them produced a firearm and demanded money while others helped themselves to the cash and cigarettes. During this robbery, a customer was also robbed off his cell phone and identity card before these suspects fled the scene with a green BMW.

The Police were notified and reacted swiftly and subsequently, the suspects were cornered and arrested along the N1 road near the Baobab Toll Gate.
During the arrest, the following items were recovered:
• One (01) pump gun.
• Six (06) live ammunition.
• One (01) revolver firearm with three (3) ammunition.
• Six (06) Cell phones
• One (01) Isuzu double cab.
• One (01) BMW car.

In the Makhado Policing area, the Intelligent led joint operation composed of the Crime Intelligence and Musina Detectives with the support from the Louis Trichardt Town Watch, went all out tracing a suspected stolen motor vehicle until they successfully recovered an Isuzu double cab that was stolen at Deneysville area and three (03) suspects were ultimately apprehended. During further investigations, it believed that the arrested suspects might also be linked to the smuggling of stolen vehicles from South Africa into Zimbabwe. All the arrested suspects will appear before Musina and Louis Trichardt Magistrate courts soon.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers has applauded the excellent job done by the Men and Women in blue in the Makhado Cluster led by the Cluster Commander Brigadier Eddie Van Der Waldt. All criminals out there who are still continuing with their dirty tricks and perpetrating any criminal activity, must know that, we are coming for them, concluded General Scheepers.
