Driver Flees from Overturned Vehicle in Waterloo – KwaZulu Natal

One person was injured after his vehicle overturned multiple times on Umdloti Beach Road near Waterloo in Verulam a short while ago.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from passing motorists reporting the accident. Upon arrival a Toyota Corolla was found lying on its roof. The vehicle was blocking both lanes resulting in traffic delays.

The driver abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene. The RUSA Operations Centre received a call from a resident on Lotus Road in Temple Valley requesting assistance for the driver who arrived at their home bleeding from his injuries.

Medics proceeded to the location and found the driver bleeding from his head and arm. He explained that while travelling in the direction of Riyadh an unknown vehicle cut him off resulting in his vehicle overturning multiple times. He fled the scene after he claimed that two men threatened to assault him.

He was treated on scene for his injures before being transported to Victoria Hospital.
