The Minister of Police, Mr. Fikile Mbalula will today host a Ministerial Imbizo with the community of Soshanguve in Tshwane. The Minister together with the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Mkongi and SAPS Top Management plans to interact with the community, police stakeholders and the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the fight against crime and building community partnerships. This will be the Minister’s second Ministerial Imbizo following the Imbizo that was hosted at Mfuleni in Cape Town last Friday.
Minister Fikile Mbalula believes communities play a vital role in boosting the morale of the police, inspiring confidence in society about the fight against crime and instilling fear on criminals.
The day kicked off with various crime prevention operations in Soshanguve since early this morning and will continue up until the hosting of the Imbizo that is scheduled to take place this afternoon where the Minister of Police will engage with the community on fighting crime and community partnerships.
The Minister of Police and SAPS Top Management arrived at Soshanguve Police Station early this morning where members on parade were briefed by the Minister of Police, Mr Fikile Mbalula as well as the Acting National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Phahlane on today’s proceedings.
