A baby and three adults were killed when two vehicles collided on the R37 close to Nelspruit today. In addition to the fatal injuries, three other people sustained minor to critical injuries.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found extremely damaged vehicles on both sides of the road.
The two motor vehicles collided when one vehicle allegedly overtook another vehicle. ER24 paramedics were on scene and transported two patients.
One female required advanced life support and was later transported by ER24 paramedics to Rob Ferreira hospital in a critical state for urgent medical attention.
The other patient with minor injuries, was also transported by ER24 to Mediclinic Nelspruit for further treatment. The third patient with moderate injuries was transported to Rob Ferreira hospital by provincial emergency services.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
